These are only for those who are curious to read more about track standards. The article is raised amid the current controversy of the “indefinite” barring of our racetracks to motorcycle racers.
I am not sure if all these rules need to be complied with OK? I just saw this document on FIM’s website.
The Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM, International Motorcycling Federation) is the governing body of motorcycle racing. It represents 98 national motorcycle federations that are divided into six regional continental unions.
FIM has continental divisions. FIM Asia’s president is Mr. Stephan Carapiet, who also happens to be the president of NAMSSA, the motorcycle governing body in the Philippines. This is why, for most people, it is hard to understand why it is taking forever for the FIM to inspect our local race tracks (Clark, BRC, Carmona, Boomland, EK). Well, it all goes down to bureaucracy, no wonder. Let us just all pray that these tracks open sooner. It is still safer in the tracks than on the public road.
