Rossi on his 250th Grand Prix start

Rossi 1996, 125cc World Championship

Rossi, 2011, MotoGP

The German Grand Prix in Sachsenring will be the Italian’s 250th grand prix start in all classes.  That is a lot of racing in the world championship for 15 years since 1996! I faithfully followed Valentino’s races on tv since he started GP. I was 5th grade then. A genuine Rossi fan.

Back to the news. Rossi is currently in a crisis, a drought of 11 consecutive races without a victory. His last win was on a Yamaha, in Sepang, Malaysia 2010, his 46th Yamaha victory. He must be baffled right now, but knowing the genius, patience is key.

We are looking forward to see him be on top of the podium again. Hopefully this season.

In other news, Loris Capirossi is reportedly to be announcing his retirement plan shortly after this years Laguna Seca race. He looks unhappy and tired. Loris has the most number of GP starts of all time (321 GP starts across all classes). His last win was in 2004, 22 years in the world championship at 38 years of age.

Let us watch the race in Sachsenring, Germany this sunday, same europen time, check your schedules at http://www.espnstar.com/tv/
